Bereg
Story
Bereg Embassy opened in March 2015, in theinner garden of one of the most famous
buildings of organic architecture, the Swan House. Our original goal was to introduce the Bereg Region to
the hipster community of Castle district and to entice them to explore the distilleries and bike trails of
the region. The Bereg Region, like the inner garden of the Swan House, is a secluded region, its beauty
known to few. We wanted to change that.To give something back to our homeland, to support the producers and
local communities who live there.
We were eager to order excellent jams andjuicy brandies (Palinkas) from the
region, and also we got caught up in the micro-brewery revolution. We followed closely the experiments of
the garage breweries, giving them regular opportunities to showcase their wares in the Bereg. Along side
the hipsters, there were up-and-coming artists, established 'business refugees',political
youngsters from left and right, and the nostalgia-seeking, middle-aged citizens of Buda's Swan House.
This is how the place has evolvedover the years, which to you is just Bereg, but to us it is “the
life.”
